Max Schewitz Fundraiser 2008
Who would have guessed the Maxtravaganza at Lake Forest Sportscars would sell out at 400 guests? Did we have fun or what? Was the highlight for you the anatomically correct heads and tails game that saw the winner take home an iTouch? Or the delicious food prepared by area restaurants and served by high school students? Or the fierce bidding for the auction items sold under a magic spell induced by charity auctioneer David Goodman? Maybe it was the excitement when emcee Dr. Sandy Goldberg and David plucked the winning ticket for the big-screen HD TV and Wii game system.
Despite all the fun, no one lost sight of our goals: to remember Max and raise money to prevent the loss of other young lives to sudden cardiac causes. And you all came through in a big, big way! You donated a record $155,000 in cash and in-kind donations. Thank you so, so much! As always, your donations stay local to benefit area children and with no paid Foundation staff or overhead, the vast majority of your money goes straight to our programs. Please mark your calendars now for June 20, 2009 and plan to buy your tickets early!
